I have a late 2009 13" macbook pro (Applecare until end of 2012) and I recently noticed a bright spot on its screen. It is as if the LCD lights glow more than the rest. It is apparent on bright scenes, therefore if the background is black, the white spots (approximately 13-15 pixels in diameter) are not visible at all.

I have searched on the Internet, and found that this problem is well known, and it is best described as "LCD mura". I am seeing mixed stories as to how Apple handled the issue, so I am posting here to see answers that will help me figure out what to do.

Any suggestions?

I had exactly the same and it is currently with my local Apple authorised repair place to have a new LCD fitted.
