Macbook pro LCD issue

I recently accidentally dropped the macbook pro 17" 2.16ghz and since then the lcd display is showing the contents partially. i have tried using the external monitor and do not have any issues.

do you know if logic board needs a replacement or it could be just simple as replacing the lcd panel?

its the display that needs the fixing if it works fine on an external
