Macbook pro line-in audio troubles

I have a Delphia skyfi satellite radio and I want to record onto my new Macbook pro When I select line-in I can't get any sound.I have a y connector connected to my sterio and goes into the Michrophone jack and also have tried the headphone jack.

I have a basic Stereo.I have the cable into the line output on my stereo.Does anybody know how to set this up.Thanks.
