Around 6 months ago my girlfriend spilled acetone on her MacBook Pro. The keyboard and trackpad stopped working immediately and have not worked since; the rest of the computer is completely functional.
I have been looking into replacement parts for the computer and am trying to decide whether to attempt to get a replacement keyboard or an entire upper case. Obviously it would be much cheaper to replace just the keyboard, but I fear that the simultaneous failure of the keyboard and trackpad are indicative of a problem with the circuit board on the upper case assembly (thus replacing the keyboard would be unlikely to fix the problem).
Any thoughts? Would my best bet be to replace the entire upper case assembly?
