Hello,

Think this will be a difficult one for you geniuses out there.

Macbook pro 2011 running Mavericks.

First - It would not turn on and was beeping - RAM issue. I replaced RAM.

It turned on after this but would only load half way before shutting down.

I replaced the battery and hard drive just in case.

Macbook pro still loads half way and then shuts down.

I have reset PRAM etc.

Any suggestions?

Kyle

Hi,

Thanks for the info! I appreciate it.

It's actually the 2011 13" screen.

Does that change things?

Didn't the 2011 13" only have Intel HD Graphics 3000? So no discrete graphics.
Do you have a backup of the data on the drive?

Hi,

I don't know?

Yes I took the hard drive out and it works fine in another macbook pro. My issue is this mac just won't work in its current state. It has a new hard drive, new ram and new battery but keeps getting stuck half way on the loading bar and then just shuts down?

Worth using the scare as a starting point to develop a backup strategy - whether bootable clones, backing up data via Time Capsule/Online backup like Backblaze.

Tried Safe Boot?
Booting to recovery partition could be used to use DIsk Utility to check the SSD, verify and repair it
Resetting SMC?

I just had this issue with my (then) week old MBP 2015.

I had to boot to recovery, use disk utility, and repair disk permissions.

Worked fine ever since.

Hi

Thanks for info guys.

It won't boot in safe.

It won't boot to recovery partition. just gets stuck halfway on loading bar.

It won't boot via install disc either.

Reset SMC, didn't work.

?

Try hooking it up to another Mac and running Disk Utility. Then select the disk and run "Verify Disk" (NOT "Repair Disk"). Does Disk Utility find problems with the file system?
