Hi all. I have a MBP 2Ghz with 2Gb of ram.

I don't know why but this never occured to me until the past 2 days. When I type my password to log in to the system, it takes at least a good 5 seconds before the dock, Finder menu, and/or desktop icons to appear. I remember initially that when I used to log in, everything would appear almost immediately. I don't know what is causing this short (but patience-testing) delay

I have the 100Gb 7200RPM HDD with 24.5Gb in use, and 68.27Gb available. I use Onyx and have run the maintenance scripts, repaired and verified permissions, and executed the "Update" optimization using Onyx. I have only 1 icon on my desktop, 10 total icons in the dock (including finder and trash), and no login items on this account.

Any idea on why there's this short delay between login and seeing the dock/finder menu/desktop icon? Any and all help is appreciated. Thanks a lot.
