Has anyone noticed an issue with their MacBook Pro 14/16” M1 displays being exceptionally dim at times during screen refreshes with movement? I understand the screen refresh rate is slower than the average, causing some fairly bad ghosting, and I see that. But it seems like the ‘leading image’ during movement gets exceptionally dim, probably 10-20% of the normal brightness, during the movement. It’s so bad, I can see it when scrolling text in a document (black text, white background), where the black text gets extremely dim (along with the ghosting) while scrolling, only to come back to normal brightness when the movement/scrolling stops. I can see it in movies, where the movement doesn’t just blur (ghost) but gets dim and difficult to see until the movement stops. I have used some other M1 MacBook Pros and while I have noticed the ghosting, I have never noticed the movement dimming like this. The ghosting is bad enough, but combined with the dimming, it’s hard to ignore and messing with me. I’ve also noticed some overall screen dimming/flickering when there is movement on screen. I’m wondering all of these displays dim badly during movement/refresh like this, or if perhaps there is a screen defect in mine.

For example, if you go to the Blue Busters Blur Trail/PWM test (https://www.testufo.com/blurtrail), do you see a bright leading line followed by the dimmer ghost tails, or is the whole thing dimming while moving? On the MacBook Pro, the whole thing is dim. On my other displays and a MacBook Air M1, the leading line is solid bright white, followed by dim ghost tails of varying dimness.
