MacBook Pro M2 Max - 8K in Chrome, still not in Safari?

So it appears to me the M2 MacBook Pro Max plays 8K video in Chrome (I tested on youtube) great, but still only 4K on Safari? The 8K option does not appear for me, in Safari.
