I 've not a great experience in doing screencasts but I made one recently because I had to do it.
I have a mbp(late 06). The application was custom-made(java) in an 'automated' enviroment (all run by their own-almost no interaction), all I have to do was to make some actions to my screen and speak to microphone.
I hoped that everything would be ok because mac is all about simplicity. And the whole process was complete without serious problems except from one: voice recording from mbp microphone, was rather low volume and with lot of noise. The main problem was the noise.
I really do not know the pros and cons of mbp microphone, I suppose is a good one and not a cheap one. So, what caused the problem with noise? Why this noise appeared in the recording?
I am thinking about it without being sure about what happened. One thought is about mbp internal fans, do they affect microphone' s recordings? Is it a software matter? Is it a general problem with all mic's of mbp?

Is there any piece of software to run in system basis(not a sound editor) to help the situation? Is something wrong?

At last, what is the problem? How can I make noise-free recordings using mbp's microphone?
