MacBook Pro (mid 2008) superdrive problem

Hi,

I am having problems with the SuperDrive on my MacBook Pro (mid 2008 model). When I insert discs into the SuperDrive slot the SuperDrive starts making a buzzing sound in a heart beat rhythmn and nothing loads up.

This happens to most discs and I have to eject and reload a dozen times before the discs will load.

What is wrong with my drive? Does it need cleaned or fixed?

you could try a cleaning disc. but other than that it sounds like it could be failing and would need to be brought in.

I am surprised that the drive could be failing as I rarely use my Macbook Pro and it was bought brand new.

like i said it might just need a cleaning.
