macbook pro mid 2012 13"

I currently have a mid 2012 13" macbook pro, base model 500gb HDD and i5 processor. I am not sure whether to upgrade this macbook to an SSD and up to 16GB ram or sell and buy a newer model. Mojave might be the last compatible upgrade for this device and sure if it will be worth it



If not what newer models would you recommend ?
