A while back, my MacBook stopped recognizing its battery - it had an x over the battery icon and would only operate when connected to the charger. Long story short, I took it to the Apple store, and there was nothing wrong with the battery itself. The store suggested water damage and told me it would be a $700 repair to replace the logic board. I ultimately just bought a new laptop and made the device my secondary machine.

Recently, I had the opportunity to switch out the logic board for a new one. The logic board was replaced, and the machine worked perfectly - except, it still wouldn’t recognize my battery. Today, I tried swapping out the battery, and that didn’t work either. I’ve tried an SMC reset after each swap. Still nothing.

Any solutions? The new logic board operates perfectly and had no issues recognizing the battery in its old device. As I said, I’ve tried multiple batteries. At this point, I’m not sure what could be triggering the issue.
