Hello, I've a macbook pro mid 2012, running sierra. About a year ago I replaced the battery. Now, I almost all the time have safari on, imail and possibly one more app. The thing is, barely streaming makes the battery last for merely an hour before I need to plug the charger again. Is this normal? Am I really overworking my macbook or could this be a different issue?
What is your experience?
Thanks for your time.

If you got the battery from Apple, I recommend taking the MacBook to their store so they can run their in-house diagnostics. You may be entitled to a free replacement.

I also have a mid 2012 MBP but I haven't replaced the battery. Tonight I'm traveling and I left home with the battery at 100%. Without the charge cable plugged in I used the laptop for about half hour this afternoon. Now the level is down to 85%. However, when I turn it on and login, the laptop dies. I held the on button down and a red low battery image came up. So I dug out my cable plugged it in and it starts up just fine. How could this happen with 85% battery?

Thanx for your answers.
@duggram sleep mode also consumes a lot of energy, if I leave mine unplugged for the night, most certainly next day it'll be juiced out.
@Audit13 I didn't buy the battery nor the macbook from an apple store so no, I can't take it in for service. Moreover, this is from 2012, I doubt they would offer any sort of warranty service in any case.
@Howard2k I post screenshot from the activity monitor, I forgot to mention that I also have time machine enabled which i know is hard in energy consumption but again, draining the whole thing in an hour...

Thank you for the reply. Good thought except today I have been doing the full shutdown each time, no sleeping. I'm wondering about the battery warning when at the same time it's telling me that the battery is at 85% level. Seems strange to me.
