should the MacBook Pro mid 2013 Macintosh HD be a mounted drive?
I have been advised that my only drive (the Macintosh HD) is a mounted drive and not the main drive.
Is this normal?
 
A standard configuration would be one internal drive formatted as Macintosh HD and yes that volume would be mounted during operation.
