Hi,
I have a mid 2014 15" retina macbook pro, and am thinking on getting a 4k uhd tv, to use as a second screen, and to watch 4k streaming content. I have a few questions that hopefully someone can answer before I 'pull the trigger' on this one.
The Macbook is iris pro 16gb ram, 256. running Mavericks
1) The 4k tv I can get a good deal on is an LG 42" which has hdmi 2.0, but does not have a thunderbolt port. What resolution will the macbook support over hdmi at 60hz?
2) Will I be able to stream 4k netflix happily if the macbook will only support 4k at 30hz over hdmi?
3) What are the limitations I will find using the Macbook with the external screen, if it only supports the higher resolutions at 30hz and not 60hz?
4) Is the Macbook likely to be updated to support 4k 60hz over hdmi, and any ETA on this, if it does not already support it.
Thanks
