Hi, I've had my macbook pro 13" for 6 months now and have been using the same modem connection for all that time. The USB modem comes with its own built in program, which I used for the first few weeks of having my mac, but I switched to using the network connections in system preferences instead since that has a mini icon in the menu bar.

So last night I connected the modem to my laptop again and it wouldn't recognize it saying it was "not configured". It added it to my connections list as a new connection with the exact same name but with a 2 at the end. I tried to connect with the old connection ID but it said that that device was not connected. So I re-configured it using the old settings and it worked, but now every single time I disconnect the internet, whether or not I disconnect the device from my laptop, it recognizes it as a new modem. I've reached connection 9 now. I can still connect to the internet, same speed and everything its just kind of annoying.

Also, I tried to open the old built in modem program that came with the device again and it disappeared from the applications list :s I tried re-installing it but the program hangs on opening and won't re-install..

I'm pretty sure its just something to do with playing around with the settings a bit, but no idea whats wrong.

Also I know nothing is wrong with the modem because I use the same one on my desktop computer and nothing like this happened there, same built in program used on that one too.

Help??
