I'm gonna be making an appointment for the Apple Center to get my hard drive replaced. How long do I have to wait for them to repair it after I send it to them?

It all depends on their workload. It could be a week (which I think that's what they quote you), but it could be sooner.

Changing the hard drive of a non-retina MBP is relatively easy, I'd recommend doing it yourself unless this is warranty work. Its cheaper and faster then having them do it.

Fully agreed. They you get to decide the type of storage HD or SSD, and the size.. There are guides on www.ifixit.com that can step you through the tools needed and the steps. There are also many Youtube movies on swapping out Macbook drives.
