Hey guys hope you guys can help me out with this. My mac book pro 13 inch won't charge. Hoping you guys can help me.

I was using it the other day and notice when I plugged it in to charge that the green/orange charging light on the power cord was not working. I Tried wiggling it around to see maybe the wiggle trick would do it to see if the contacts were maybe stuck or loose. Since that didn't work i used my buddies charger and my mac book charged up just fine. So I figured that I needed a new charger. So i bought a new apple charger and when I plugged it into my mac book the green/orange light does't come on and also under the batter % indicator on the screen it says " Not charging". I think the battery is fine because it doesn't drain fast & because it charged on my friends charger. I bought my macbook pro back in 2010 if that helps.

Try an SMC reset:

http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3964

1.) Shut down the computer.
2.) Disconnect the MagSafe power adapter from the computer, if it's connected.
3.) Remove the battery (to remove the battery - click here: MacBook or MacBook Pro).
4.) Press and hold the power button for 5 seconds.
5.) Release the power button.
6.) Reconnect the battery and MagSafe power adapter.
7.) Press the power button to turn on the computer.

That sounds odd pretty odd, is the new charger official?

Your 'click here' links are non existent.

Also if his friends charger works then i would say it's a charger issue.

OP: wait for some more responses before ripping apart your computer.

I took the back pannel off of my mac book. Since I was told to remove batter. But it say's all over the place to NOT remove the battery.
