So i have a Sennheiser G4me Zero headset with the 3.5mm splitter so that according to their website should allow me to use both the the mic and headset. However my 2014 macbook pro is not recognizing the mic only the headphones. Anybody have any idea whats wrong or what i can do to fix it?

Just curious. Under System Preferences -> Sound -> Input, what are the devices you see listed? Different hardware involved, but when I used my Playstation Gold headset wirelessly, I had to go in and tell it to use the input from the USB dongle, rather than the built in mic.

yeah not problem the input options are:

internal microphone
soundflower (16ch)
soundflower (2ch)

for some reason its just not recognizing the mic is there
