I've noticed an odd sleeping trend with my (late 2008) Macbook Pro: when I leave it unplugged and let it fall asleep, the battery continues to drain while it's sleeping. This is a fairly recent development; in the past when I have let it sleep while unplugged, the battery usually dropped around 5% or so. Lately, it's been much more. When I mentioned the problem to my brother, he said it might be happening because I leave Firefox open. So, last time I let my Mac sleep unplugged, I made sure the browser was closed. I left it for about 4.5 hours, charged at 98%. When I returned, it had dropped all the way down to 13%. Not good. Especially since I was hoping that between destinations on campus next school year, I could just let my Mac sleep in my bag rather than shut it down and boot it up constantly.

Is this a known issue? Is there a way to solve it? Any ideas?

*On a side note, my Mac has also suffered from the won't-wake-up-from-sleep syndrome in the past, and still does once in a great while. Is it possible the problem kind of reversed itself? Instead of not waking up, it won't properly sleep?
