I used to own a 2016 MBP TB and recently replaced it with a 2017 nTB. The material on the keyboard is improved to reduce oil smudges!

Before, I would be very conscious of using the keyboard with even slightly sweaty hands as the keyboard would clearly show fingerprints/smudges. But with the 2017 version, it doesn't matter. The keyboard consistently retains a matte look.

Just thought this small detail might be useful information to some. For me, it makes me feel better about using the laptop and not cleaning it every hour.

On another note, though, the fan sounds an electric razor at times. Such a strange robotic sound. But it works, so I'm not complaining too much.

Nice to hear less smudges

Just out of curiosity, why did u swap a new with newer one jim?

My 2016 TB model had horrendous battery life in comparison to this 2017 nTB model, and I realized that with my beefy desktop, I didn't need a laptop for handling intensive work. I wasn't using the TB model to its full potential basically.
