I've been waffling back and forth between getting the iMac and the MBP. Eventually, I decided to make a list of the pros and cons for both.

This is the 24-Inch iMac with only the upgraded graphics card and the 2.4GHz MBP. (Student Discount as well :D)

iMac Pros:
+9 Inches of screen
+.4GHz
+256MB VRAM
+70GB Hard drive space
-$97.36

MBP Pros:
Mobility.

If I were to get the upgraded 15-Inch Macbook compared to the an iMac with the 2GB RAM upgrade, it'd look like this.

iMac Pros:
+9 Inches of screen
+.27GHz
-$216.50

MBP Pros:
Mobility

This doesn't even include the supposed iMac update, which is supposed to just be marginal but nevertheless. I'm having one hell of a time deciding, what do you guys think?

I think it boils down to, do you ever envision yourself needing to pick up your computer and moving it elsewhere to work on? Then, mbp. Otherwise, the iMac's bigger screen will probably be nicer to work with on a daily basis.

Comparing a desktop to a laptop makes no sense. You either need portability or you don't.
