Hey guys, this may not be the right place if so I apologize but I'm having a bit of a problem deciding between the new Macbook Pro or Ipad Pro 12.9

I'm graduating college this semester, I specialize in Theatre and I already have a job lined up working for the Mouse when I finish and spring starts.

So what I do in Theatre is a jack of all trades, but I mostly deal with set construction and design. Nothing too advanced, I'm still in school, but enough to where I've needed to use several sketches and reference photos. I also am working now in the props department as supervisor so a lot of my work deals with making props, and this also leads to more sketching and art. I also have a couple of directing classes coming up which having access to sketching and drawing will benefit me as well.

So that's fine for school needs, but in terms of a career future I really would love to get involved with digital art and animation and to my limited knowledge animation is not really something you can get done with the ipad.

However both animation and drawing would require the use of a drawing tablet, which adds extra expense to the Macbook Pro.

Side Story - I should mention I own a very powerful "gaming pc" but I'm just not a fan of windows and it is not portable, which are my reasons for switching to a more portable format

TL;DR - Macbook Pro or Ipad Pro 12.9 for a student who's involved in theatre and interested with a career in animation and digital art?
