MacBook Pro OS X CD help

My Pro no longer lets me burn a CD or DVD. I add the files to the disc like normal and click burn. The CD-R turns and the computer acts like it's burning, but once it's done, it spits it out and hasn't actually burned.

Is there a way to fix this or do I just need to install a new one?

Do you burn a lot discs?

Does this occur every time you burn a disc or only when you do it through the finder?
