In the most idiotic way imaginable I dropped my 15' 2006 macbook pro (2,2 - A1226) in a way that the the top of the hinges, front bezel and bottom case hit the ground at the same time, bending all 3 parts and destroying the whole magnet, button and hinges so while the machine boots and display fine, the trackpad button doesnt work.

Someone is offering me a MacBook Pro 15" a1260 for parts (complete machine... but no motherboard) but as far as I know that model is a LED model so completly incompatible with my old mbp...

can a technician transplant the case, screen, trackpad and keyboard? or is it impossible?

what can I salvage from the a1260 to a a1226?

This comes in at the worst possible timing! :(

Thanks in advance!
