I'm a new Mac user and am having inexplicable issues with my macbook pro. I'm running Tiger 10.4.11. Restarting the computer does not help. Also, these issues happen regardless of the temperature occurring after the first boot up or after hours of use - it doesn't seem to matter. I'm experiencing...

  • frequent trackpad failure
  • frequent trackpad button failure
  • frequent total keyboard failure
  • frequent commands to restart computer
  • Under KEYBOARD & MOUSE preferences, the TRACKPAD tab/option disappears and reappears
  • the disk drive tries to eject something every 5 minutes when nothing is in it
  • the screen brightness goes to black automatically and won't let me re-adjust
  • the volume adjusts spontaneously
Please help.

Absolutely! take it to the Apple store and let the Geniuses do there thing. Take notes. Be aware.

Cheers!

Sounds like your internal USB Bus is going nuts. Any issues with the iSight camera turning on/off?

It would explain the Kernel Panics, Keyboard and trackpad issues. But still, Applecare should rid you of that plague. Unfortunately it'll likely take forever.
