Hey guys.
I have a Macbook Pro (2012) and the power button hasn't worked since I got it. The previous owner did mention spilling wine on the keyboard hence the power button not working. She said she took it down to an Apple Store and they said it was the logic board, however I haven't seen anything that says it is. Well, to be honest I haven't found much other than this thread https://forums.macrumors.com/threads/1562633/, which is the same problem.
I ran the hardware diagnostic (Not sure if that is actually accurate or not?) and it came back with no problems with the main board.
It's not a big deal as I keep the Macbook in sleep at night and even if it does turn off, all I've got to do is unplug the battery and connect the magsafe. It'd just be nice to hear from others who have experienced this problem.
I hope it's just the keyboard but I'd like to know peoples thoughts before I go through the pain of installing a new keyboard which may not even solve the problem!
