Hiya. I have just bought a Sony Bravia 55" LED/LCD (model KDL-55EX710) but cannot get my Macbook Pro to connect via HDMI or VGA (via DVI) (using the mac mini adaptors). The Macbook registers that there is a another display attached (the resolution changes) but nothing shows on the TV. With HDMI nothing at all seems to register.. Any thoughts? Mirroring etc did not seem to help... :(

I'm having the same problem connecting my white 15" macbook to
my Sony Grand Wega 55" . connect it via mini DVI adapter then converts to DVI to a HDMI cable, it registers it's a sony LCD but nothing shows on the TV.
would really like thoughts for both of us! :(

hope someone can help Thanks!!

sony bravia it has a funny remark in its user manual

Do not attempt to connect the HDMI/DVI connector to a PC or Laptop Graphics Card.
(This will result in a blank screen being displayed)

that aside always try the absolute lowest resolution you can set first
and try to be patient , sometimes switching off / on overscan /underscan can help too with TV's
and try different frequency's on the Macbook too ...means just for example if you choose 1024x768 @ 100hz and the tv can only do 1024x768 @60 hz or the other way round , it will stay black if it cant display it just for example , but your user manual should help you with exact figures

sorry we live in 2011 and nothing is just plug and play any more :(
