Hi.

My sister have this MBP, no retina and it stopped working.
When you start it, it shows a folder with a questionmark on it, i thought i fixed that when i replaced the HDD, with a SSD.
On the SSD, i can install a OSX Mountain Lion, and then use it until i shut it down, where the folder with the questionmark will appear again, and i am forced to install OSX again, and that is not ideal ;)

Anyone who have tried this, or just have a idea of how you can fix it?

Might be the cable sata cable the connects the drive to the logicboard.
