So lately, my computer has seemed pretty slow, so I've been kinda worried by it. The dock keeps locking up and doesn't get bigger when I hover, only when I click. It freezes up a lot, keeping certain things highlighted, and my apple remote doesn't work for some reason(works on ipod dock and iMac)

any ideas on what might be wrong?

There are a couple of things you can do. First off, go into Disk Utility- (it's in the Utilities folder under the Applications). Select your disk (your HD), and press the FirstAid tab. Verify your permissions, and, if needed, repair them. Also you should verify your disk, and repair that, if needed (you will need your original CD that came with your computer for that). Finally, the Apple Remote issue tells me you should zap the PRAM. After you do everything else, boot while holding apple-option-p-r (four buttons together). If that doesn't work, call Apple Care. Hope this helps.
