I just got my new macbook 15" pro and am loving it. I got myself one of these bags:

But as I will be using it at work will need some good protection for it. I have been looking at the following plastic hard shell:

Is this enough? Is there some sort of skin, like contact I can apply onto it? like similar to what is available for iphone? Or will the hardcase be enough?

thanks in advance

That should be fine, there is nothing that would really protect your laptop from being dropped, but that is good protection. I would be concerned about the bag you bought though, as it is made for the 17" notebook which might mean that yours slides around in it which would be not good.

I am a fan of the Hard Shells as they protect against a good amount of dents, however they are known to cause some minor scratching due to dirt getting in between the case and the notebook. However, these are no where near as bad then what would likely occur without it. If you are careful with your stuff you should be fine.

I always prefer Incase over Speck after owning numerous products from both.

There's the InvisibleShield you can apply to the metal itself, but I don't think you need one of those. After almost a year of nearly daily use, mine had no scratches on the aluminum.
