I know OS 10.10 is not out yet but I was just wondering if a mid 2010 13inch MacBook Pro with a Nvidia GeForce 320m graphics card be supported by osx 10.10 within this year.

Nobody here works for Apple, thus nobody can know.

If that can reassure you, my older (2008) MBP is now my girlfriend's and it runs Mavericks (10.9) like a champ.

I wouldn't upgrade to 10.10 if it doesn't add any valuable feature to older hardware. Mavericks brought longer battery life and memory compression, but CUDA support is no longer available to older hardware. That is, I don't have good feelings about installing the next OSX in older machines.

We really don't know what 10.10 is going to bring and what models that will make the cut at this point. I'd not worry about it until apple provides more info.
