I'm stumped on this one.
I was given a Mid 2012 i5 13" Mac Book pro by a friend. Told it had liquid damage, and the logic board was toast.
I tried to boot it. Magsafe charger charges machine, battery indicator goes from amber to green. Batter holds a charge and starts the Mac. When I hit the start button, the screen goes black, the super drive whirs, and the sleep light blinks. Unhook the super drive, hard drive, and network, same thing, no whir. Take out the ram, and I get a beep that coincides with the sleep light blinking.
Am I missing something simple, or is this board toast? Caps light key lights up and goes off when pressed, when powered on. Could the keyboard being shorted keep it from starting up? I tried to reset the SMC and PRAM, but got no results.
