How would the new M1 Compare to the 13-inch, 2017, Four Thunderbolt 3 Ports 3.1 GHz Dual-Core Intel Core i5 Intel Iris Plus Graphics 650 1536 MB?

I need a new computer and I am trying to figure out if I am going the cheaper way with the M1 or the
  • 2.0GHz quad-core 10th-generation Intel Core i5 processor with Intel Iris Plus Graphics
  • Turbo Boost up to 3.8GHz
  • 16GB memory
  • 1TB SSD storage¹

Thoughts
 
Pros:
  • Much faster
  • Reliable keyboard
  • Far better battery life
  • Updated display
  • Faster WiFi
  • External 6K display support
Cons:
  • No x86 VM or Bootcamp
  • Fewer ports
  • Fewer external displays supported
  • Not all ports are Thunderbolt
