Hi, I have a 20" iMac G5, 2 generations from the new Intel ones (The one just before the built in iSight came out).
I use it mainly for Corel Painter IX.5, Flash MX, internet, iTunes, Mail, downloading the odd file etc. Basically for School (I'm an illustration student)
I don't play PC/Mac games.

Anyway, for a long time I've wanted a laptop so that I can paint with my Wacom (Intuos 3) when I'm out of the house, and I've just started a job at a design agency in London, which means having a laptop is now even more desired.
Obviously I want a Mac : ]

I'm not going to sell my G5, so this laptop would be purely for when I'm out of the house.
If I bought one I would use it for work (Painter/Flash) and then just simple things like internet and Mail. No games or 3D at all.
Ok on to the questions

+ My first question is what model to get.
Am I right in thinking that the two new models out now are the Macbook and Macbook Pro? There's no iBook anymore, right? I'm kinda confused about this.
Considering the programs I will be running, and the amount of time (7-8 hours a day, Mon to Fri) would the Macbook be ok? Or would I need the more powerful Pro version?

+ Then I wonder what size to get. Although that largely depends on my preference, does say the 17" Pro heat up more or weigh a lot more than the 15" etc?

+ It's been mentioned all over the place, so I gota ask, how badly do they heat up? Do some models heat up more than others? I wont be using the scroll pad thing, as I have my Wacom for moving the cursor and stuff, and the Keyboard will be largely used for shortcut keys, so I guess my hands/wrists wont be on or by the lower panel much.

+ One thing I'd love to be able to do is have a folder where all my work files go, and then have the iMac and Macbook share this folder wirelessly, so for example if I put a Painter file in the folder on my laptop at work, it'll somehow transfer onto my iMac once I get home (with both on of course). Can this be done?

The macs in work are all Intel based, and they seem to run Flash and Painter fine (although I noticed Painter has been crashing a few times, which doesn't happen on my iMac at home) but I'm guessing updated drivers are coming all the time? I know that my brother (who has an Intel iMac) was having trouble with his Wacom, then he downloaded Wacom's newest driver which was made for the Intel macs and now it runs perfectly.

Sorry for the long post, like I said I've wanted the freedom and flexibility of a laptop for a long time, and now that I can (almost) afford it, I'm getting excited but also cautious that I make the right purchase for my needs.

Thanks in advance for any help,

Peace
