I have a Mid 2010 13 inch Macbook Pro that I am trying to upgrade from the original 320gb HDD to a 1TB raid 0 array. The array will consist of two 850 evo 500gb drives. Every time I go to set up the raid array the process gets to the point of spinning up the array and crashes about 80 percent of the way through. I've tried it through terminal and through raid assistant. The error I am getting is a kernel panic error: Kernel/IOMemoryDescriptor.cpp:2331 . Any idea what I need to do to get the raid array to finish out so I can replace the optical drive? I haven't tried the reset SMC command yet. Any help would be appreciated.
