I have a newly-refurbished late-2011 17" MBP with 10.7.5.
The thing works beautifully, except for randomly going to sleep--and this happens both on or off the mag power source.
Console info gives "kernel: previous sleep cause: 5" as the only clue.
I've found numerous refs on Google to this problem, but none have offered a plausible cause or cure (usually stuff like "Do a PMRC reset" or "keep your iphone case magnet away from the laptop" or "make sure your energy settings don't put your laptop to sleep"--none of which applies).
Has anyone ever deciphered what Sleep Cause 5 is, and why it's happening on an otherwise-flawless MBP?
Thanks!
