Anyone know if you can make a recovery partition with Lion on my MacBook Pro. I am planning on replacing the cd drive with another hard drive so it would be useful to make a recovery partition like the new MacBook Airs have.

When you install Lion it will automatically create a recovery partition on the hard drive you're installing it on.

Correct, the partition is there even though it doesn't show up in disk utility. Using this partition to reinstall lion requires you to be connected to the Internet though. I would just burn an install disk, it will take less time to reinstall and you can install lion on other macs if you need to
