When do you think the next MBP refresh will be?

Will they get the new Intel CPUs by this time?

Considering that Intel hasn't released anything else I would say that they are running the fasted chips available.

WWDC is very likely and they should contain the Gulftown CPUs, finally.

Lol, he was asking about the Macbook Pro; not the MacPro. The MacPro is long due for an upgrade, so hopefully, WWDC. The Macbook Pro, on the other hand, was just updated and likely won't be again until the very end of 2010 or beginning of 2011 (a time-frame like Nov '10 - Jan '11 is reasonable).

Later this year by holiday time. But knowing Apple, it will be the Tuesday after all the holidays end.

Are you effing serious?

Yes he is.

I think a solid time frame is Jan '11 - Mar '11

Maybe you are thinking of the MacPro but there is no way Apple announces new MBP's 2 months after an update.

Good Point. Wait... Apple NEVER announces new MBPs they do it secretly without warning.

He mean macbook pro not mac pro!

Haha agreed.

I meant the MBP, as in MacBook Pro. It was just tongue in cheek, thus the links.

swish2351, I know you want an avatar, but posting in such rapid succession in the same thread is frowned upon.

Sandy Bridge is sooo 2011. When do you think Apple will release the Sandy Bridge + 1 MacBook Pros? :p

Sigh...

Maybe it's because I read so many of the waiting for arrandale threads that I don't even want to think about the next update.

There might be a small speed bump in autumn but I have my doubts about that (Apple labels the current machines "mid-2010", which makes another update this year rather unlikely).

Anyway, Intel won't release new mobile CPUs until Q1/2010, so it may be even take a year for new models to appear.
And if Apple sticks to nVidia, there won't be any suitable new GPUs for quite a while either.
