Does anyone have any experience in recieving refunds for apple products ordered online, particularly in the UK and using the educational store? I would like to return my MacBook Pro.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Oh, and nothings wrong with it, it's just not for me.

How old is it? You will have to pay the restocking fee. Just call Apple.

Note that the original poster is in the UK, so UK consumer laws apply.

You have the right to return your purchase for any reason, or no reason at all. You don't like the color. The keyboard. The screen is too shiny - whatever you like.

Go to the store, and be polite and respectful, and do not let them offer you a store credit - they will give you a refund as long as you make them feel they're doing you a favor.

Not after more than 6 weeks they won't and not with nothing wrong with it.

The UK has great consumer laws particularly when bought online/over the phone in terms of being able to cancel orders for up to 7 days after order but there are limits to it with some things being excluded if opened.

Many stores will allow you to exchange/refund things within 28 days but that's not a legal requirement unless the goods aren't fit for the purpose they were sold for as encompassed in the Sale of Goods Act.

The OP is probably best to try to sell it second-hand. If he paid edu price for it, he shouldn't end up too much out of pocket since most people can't get it for that rate.

How about online, I live nowhere near an apple store, could I get the same result in an e-mail? Or as Applespider says, nowhere?

This thread is pretty funny. Can you imagine going to a car dealer:

"Would you have a problem if I return this three month old car? Please don't charge me a restocking fee."

lol.

If you do not like it, your only choice now is to sell it to somebody. You probably going to lose atleast 20-25%. For all you people who think that is so much check out Apple Refurbished prices.

Refurbished MacBook Pro - 1.83GHz Intel Core Duo $1,549.00
Refurbished MacBook Pro - 2.0GHz Intel Core Duo $1,949.00
Refurbished MacBook Pro - 2.16GHz Intel Core Duo $2149.00
