I purchased a refurbished Macbook Pro from Mac of All Trades and received it today. As I've been working on setting up the computer, uploading photos, adding applications, etc, the Macbook has suddenly restarted at least 15 times. It's incredibly frustrating, and makes me very worried about there being an issue with the computer.
I can't determine a real rhyme or reason for the cause. I'm doing different things each time it happens. It's happened while installing iPhoto, browsing the web (including this site), setting up my email accounts, and checking my Java installation to make sure it would work for my school.
Since I realized I need to look at the report to see what was causing each shutdown, I've had two separate ones. I'm sure there will be more before long, and they will likely show different causes.

It doesn't seem to matter how many applications I'm running, or how hard the computer is working. I'm completely lost and frustrated. Have I bought a lemon? Is there anything I can do to try to fix it? I'd like to avoid sending it back if there is an easy fix, but if this is a larger problem that will continue I need to return it. Mac of All Trades has a very tight returns window, unfortunately.
It also initially had a thin, vertical lime-green line down the screen. It was there for a few hours of use but then went away.
Any advice/tips would be so very much appreciated! I've never had any of these issues before but have only owned iMacs.
Thank you!
