Hi everyone,

I have a macbook pro retina that was working perfectly until yesterday, I powered it on and the fan started to make a weird noise, like a fan that is loose...thus the whole right side (the ports) stopped working: hdmi, sd card and usb.

I plug stuff and nothing happens. I ran the system diagnostic test and it says no problems were found :(

Question: Is there a way to check hardware to see if the parts are malfunctioning (like in windows)

I still have 9 months warranty left but I live in brazil, apple service sucks and there's no local apple store and I need my computer, so if anyone had the same problem or has an idea how to help, please help! :)

Go to about this mac,
more info
system report
then click whichever item you want to check.

I would just make it easy on yourself and take it into service.
