According to this forums looks like everyone would jump on a Samsung display over the LG! Me personally I love the LG display over the Samsung. Why do you think Apple wants to use LG at the end of the day! =)
Yes, way too much FUD going on over this. There are two different manufacturers of screens. Some screens have issues -- they get taken back and replaced.
When you're selling it second-hand the thing someone's going to want to know is whether the screen is perfect, no IR, no issues. Not who manufactured it.

Probably LG offered better deal than Samsung. Applewill stick with whoever can save them more money as long as supplier's quality is good enough
I never knew about this issue until I read the forum. There are good 40+ uses mac as their main computer but I think only 2 other than me knows about this forum. Consumers don't really care as long as they can't see an issue unless someone tell them or show them.
