I have a massive music/movie collection that I store on an external HDD that won't fit on my internal SSD. I am currently carrying around a WD 1tb external that is quite annoying, has anyone come up with a solution for storing/attaching external HDD's to your macbook pro so they don't move around / in the way? I was thinking of a hook or velcro to the lid of the Macbook?

Double Stick Velcro would be the most logical solution, however, is there really a need to have your collection with you at all times? Could you get a physically smaller hard drive which might be easier to carry around, or one that you can leave in your carry bag and connect via a longer cable or WiFi (and obviously using Bus power instead of external power).

This might help http://www.amazon.com/Patriot-Gauntlet-Hard-drive-Enclosure-PCGTW25S/dp/B008KW61XK, you just need to get a 2.5" drive to place inside.
