I recently bought the new retina MacBook Pro which is the top of the range model with 16GB ram. I was wanting to plug my MacBook Pro into my iMac (late 2009) mini Displayport using a mini Displayport cable so I can use my iMac as a second monitor for my retina MacBook Pro. I read that this works but considering my retina MacBook Pro uses Thunderbolt 2 will this still work?

Any minidisplay port adapter will work with a Thunderbolt port. You should be good!
