Hi all,

There's been a few MBP rumours over the past few weeks/months, mainly from our man Kuo, in addition to other sources. The main rumours have stated that a new 16" MBP is coming out in late 2020/early 2021, with other rumours stating that Mini-LEDs are also a possibility after this.

I'm slightly confused, as Apple normally updates the MBP every 4 years, so does that not mean the new redesign is due in 2020, as the current butterfly keyboard gen of MBP started in 2016, with the retina MBP generation coming out in 2012, and the unibody design in 2008?

Thanks

There have been some potential mistranslations muddying the water apparently. I think there is still potentially a 16.5" coming this year. Mini LEDs next year or year after. 4 years usually for redesign but they are getting hammered right now due to various issues. New design with the magic keyboard replacing the butterfly but largely same or similar innards would help start to address that.

The latest rumors are that a 16 inch model is supposed to arrive sometime later this year and that Macbook Pros will adopt MiniLED technology in 2021.

Should be some great deals on 2016-2018 MBPs when this thing comes out assuming they fix the keyboard problems. And a few other issues. The 2015s might drop too.
