Hi all,

I have a Macbook Pro 15 here, early 2011 model, and it's running really slowly - about 3 minutes to boot up (if it boots at all). Also other strange behaviour in that when I close it down, something inside seems to continue running for a while, and when I try to turn it on again, the response to the power button seems extremely delayed, and requires multiple presses. At one point it decided it didn't want to charge from my charger too, and just sat there at 87% not charging (but reports that the battery condition is normal).

Any ideas what the problem might be?

Thanks in advance.

Heed Samuelsan's advice above.

A 2011 15" MBPro might be a victim of "RadeonGate".

Do you have a brick-n-mortar Apple store anywhere close?
If so, take it to them RIGHT AWAY.
You -might- qualify for a FREE motherboard replacement.

Even if your problem isn't RadeonGate, there's a chance they might fix it anyway...
