My early 2008 MBP seems to run a lot cooler on my lap then it does on my desk. On the desk the CPU runs (Firefox, Pages, iTunes and Skype open) at an average temp. of 52 C and the GPU at 59. Using it on my lap however, it the CPU is at an average of 46 and the GPU at 53. The Airport card temps also drop from 59 to 49. All of these temps I get while using Fan control to automatically adjust my fan speed but not only do the temps drop but my fan speeds also drop from 3300+ to 2500 which is my base setting. It gets warm but I can even game with it on my lap.

These are quite significant drops. Anybody else experience this?

Strange, I would expect it to be hotter on lap since the airflow is worse.

Maybe you have a cold blod which acts as a liquid cooler :)

your body acts as a giant heatsink and therefore draws heat from the case and...oh hell i have no idea what i'm talking about.:D
