Hangs on boot if I boot normally. Sometimes it makes it to the desktop, sometimes it doesn't. Neither way does it make it past 30 seconds before freezing up.

Mavericks, Sierra - same result. Booted into recovery and erased hard drive, fresh Sierra install via recovery.

logs show:

Aug 23 13:18:28 Macbooks-MacBook-Pro com.apple.xpc.launchd[1] (com.apple.watchdogd[435]): Service exited with abnormal code: 255

So that is nothing special. I see several failures in the logs, but I don't know which to pay attention to. This is a fresh install so it shouldn't be doing this. Passed hardware test, PRAM has been reset. I need to outline and pinpoint the issue, what is the best way to find it?

Sorry, don't need a geek squad, just a troubleshooting map. Thanks though.

Was able to get console open before it froze and this is what it showed:

Usually hangs when it lights the keyboard halfway through booting. In safe mode it works perfectly so I'm looking for a reason it won't load all elements. You'd expect it to show in the logs, and it may. I'm not fully convinced it purged everything in the restore.

I was referring to an actual apple store, not best buy. I mentioned apple because they can run their own hardware tests.

Unfortunately, can't think of any possible solution as you did everything I would have done except install Sierra to an external drive and boot from the external drive.

Moving on, I'm looking for terminal commands to disable selective startup items. Items list on startup for sounds, keyboard lights, camera, etc. proper terminal code for disabling. Need sound to remain on so I need to avoid safe mode. I can remove kext temporarily for testing after knowing which ones. I know they are launch agents and daemons. I'm not sure which are part of startup.

Biggest issue is that I can't see in verbose mode what it loads and what it hangs on. That's the goal.

I went ahead and did a reflow just to be sure and nothing changed. I'm very interested in selective startup. You are supposed to be able to do it by holding the shift at a specific time during startup, but so far i either get safe boot or normal boot.
