Hi all,

I've got a 2009 MBP I'm about to sell but I need to wipe my hard-drive (lots of sensitive client information etc, not just dodgy websites) and I'm running 10.6.8 with a disk-drive which doesn't want to work...

As I'm looking to sell I'm really not wanting to spend any money on this machine, just to get it out the door ASAP as I've treated myself to a iMac and a iPad.

I've tried google but I haven't found something which answers my exact question.

What can I do?

Thanks for your help

James

This was the first search result for: selling mac
http://support.apple.com/kb/HT201065

But it seems that your main problem is a failing disk drive (it could also be the SATA cable).

Options:
1. Remove the disk drive and sell the Mac for parts/repair.
2. Install a new or good second hand disk drive or SSD and follow the instructions in the link above, then keep or destroy the drive with the sensitive data.

just to get it out the door ASAP

If this is true, then choose option 1.
